AL MAKTOUM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT EXPANSION ( DUBAI WORLD CENTRAL)

The expansion of Al Maktoum will cost AED 128 billion (£28 billion) and all existing operations from Dubai International Airport, including passenger and cargo services, will be moved to the new airport. The project is part of the Dubai vision to become a global aviation hub and will also include the development of an aviation district, residential areas, shopping malls, and hotels. The new airport will have five runways, four passenger terminals, and a capacity to handle over 200 million passengers annually. It will also have the capability to handle the largest aircraft in the world, including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8. The expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport is expected to create thousands of new jobs and boost the economy of Dubai. It is also expected to attract more tourists and business travelers to the city, further solidifying its position as a major global aviation hub.

The latest Dubai Airport expansion is known as the "DXB Plus" project, which aims to increase the airport's capacity to handle capacity for 260 million passengers upon completion. This expansion includes the construction of a new terminal, concourse, and additional aircraft stands, as well as upgrades to existing facilities to improve efficiency and passenger experience.

Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central, is currently the largest airport in the making. Once completed, it is expected to surpass Dubai International Airport as the largest airport in the world in terms of passenger and cargo volume. The airport is part of a larger development project called Dubai South, which aims to create a new urban and economic hub in Dubai.
